Southeast Portland is the hippest district in Portland, Oregon. The area is filled with eclectic boutiques, cafes, breweries, and restaurants. The most popular streets for entertainment in SE Portland include Belmont St., Hawthorne Blvd., and Division/Clinton. SE Portland is where there is a lot of action on weeknights and weekends by young and hip residents. SE Portland has its humble roots where the city used to be home of blue-collar workers and still today it feels like where real people live. Geographically, the dividing line between the South and North Portland is Burnside Street. SE Portland is very accessible through five different bridges connecting Southeast Portland and Northwest and Southwest Portland. Such accessibility is something to be desired by people who work in downtown Portland or the west side while wanting to live in a socially happening place. SE Portland being such a trendy and hip district with all the famous bars and restaurants cause people from all over the city to travel and socialize in certain neighborhoods in SE Portland. Despite SE Portland being the center for entertainment, it is extremely bicycle friendly and includes lots of family neighborhoods with a small town feel. SE Portland is also home to Reed College, which is the most liberal college in the state. Although SE Portland is filled with retail building and houses, one can enjoy outdoors by biking Springwater Corridor or hike Mt. Tabor, a dormant volcano in the city of Portland.
