Northwest Portland is one of the most desired areas in Portland because of its upscale residential areas and easy commute to downtown Portland and Pearl District. In this article, Northwest Portland is referring to the northwestern portion of Portland, Oregon, not Northwest District also referred to as Nob Hill. Those are separate neighborhoods in Northwest Portland. Overall, Northwest Portland is the most expensive area to live in and also has the biggest variety of properties ranging from historic homes and private multi-million dollar mansions on acre lots to high-rise condos in busy downtown and Pearl District. Because of these neighborhoods, Northwest Portland is home of both the most and least densely populated neighborhoods. Northwest Portland is also home of Forest Park, which is a 5,000+ area wooded area that offers the some of the best outdoor activities in Portland including trails for mountain biking, hiking, and bird-watching. Many Portlanders from other areas come to Forest Park to enjoy weekend outdoors activities and hike on a 30-mile route. Not only Northwest Portland offers nature and class, it is also home to some of the coolest neighborhoods such as Pearl District, Downtown, Nob Hill / Northwest, and Old Town / Chinatown with shops, restaurants, breweries and more. It is where a big number of people go on weekends to enjoy their day in the city.
